Help your brother & Allah will help you Inshallah

Help your brother & Allah will help you Inshallah
Jamil El-Banna, a 45 year old Jordanian held at Guantanamo Bay for the last four and a half years has been cleared for release from the detention facility and can leave as soon as he has a country to return to. Jamil's wife and five children, who are British citizens, live in northwest London. Jamil was granted refugee status in the UK in 1997 and faces almost certain detention and torture if returned to Jordan. The British government is once again refusing to allow him to return to the UK and his family. This means that he is likely to be returned to Jordan. Jamil's lawyers last week started a new judicial review of the Home Office to have Jamil returned to the UK urgently, in particular as he was a refugee in this country and faces an uncertain future if returned to Jordan.

Please take action and write to your MP to put pressure on the Home Office to act now. A model letter is attached. You can post or email the letter to your MP. You can get their contact details from

Please also find the model letter for Ahmed Belbacha attached. Ahmed is in a similar situation to Jamil and has been in a state of limbo since February when he was cleared for release at the same time as Ahmed Errachidi. The Algerian government cannot ensure his safety is returned there and thus Ahmed Belbacha has been forced to spend an additional four in Guantanamo Bay so far. He had the indefinite right to remain in the UK and should be returned here.
