MAKING WUDU WITH USED WATER

MAKING WUDU WITH USED WATER

Is it allowed to block the water in a sink, not allowing it to drain out, and then making Wudu in it?

Abdul Haqeu, Sheffield

Answer:

There are different opinions regarding used water:

1). If water has been used it is wrong to make Wudu in it.

2). You can make Wudu with it, but it will be disapproved (Makrooh)

3). It is like ordinary water and you may make Wudu with it. We prefer the third opinion, however with theses conditions:

4). There should be no dirt on your hands, which may dissolve in the water.

None of you should take a bath in still water, when he is sexually impure:

5). The water should be considered impure if there is change in one of the following: taste, colour and smell. If so, Wudu should not be performed with it.
